A midwest born, northern California raised, Los Angeles transplant, JaVonté grew up with the best of musical influences: his mother’s love for Gospel music, and the years his father and family exposed him to soulful R&B, Jazz and Hip Hop classics.

When he is not touring the world and sharing the stage with Ms. Gladys Knight as a young “pip”, he is writing and recording his own signature tunes. His smooth yet piercing voice, and emotion evoking timber has allowed him to work with an array of artists, from Snoop Lion to Alex Isley, as well as Kendrick Lamar, landing him a Grammy for background vocalist on the album “To Pimp A Butterfly”. Aside from the vocals, he has also written for the likes of TGT (Tank, Ginuwine, & Tyrese), Gladys Knight, and Syd of the Internet, to name a few. In the midst of writing and singing with others, he has also released two solo projects “Where Have You Been” and “Even”, and most recently a remastered version of “Where Have You Been” with 4 new songs.
